What happens if my caregiver is unable to show up for a scheduled shift?

As a private home care agency, Cherished One Home Care employs a team of caregiving professionals. Thus, another caregiver is made immediately available to meet a loved one’s or your needs.

Why should I hire your agency versus an individual caregiver?

Answer:

If you hire an individual caregiver, you become the employer of the individual caregiver. As an employer, a few things you must consider are as follow.

• You are responsible for all state and federal payroll taxes for the individual caregiver. Do you have the payroll system to accurately calculate, withhold the taxes, and submit them to the government in a timely manner?

• You must obtain Workers Compensation Insurance or make sure your individual caregiver has personal coverage. If not, you could be responsible for any injuries claimed to have happened while the individual caregiver was in your home. How will you pay for any disability claims if the individual caregiver files against you?

• You must have a care backup plan for your individual caregiver. What happens if the individual caregiver doesn’t show up for work? Are you prepared to stay home to care for your loved one? If the care is for you, are you prepared to be without care when an individual caregiver doesn’t show up?

• You will supervise the individual caregiver to ensure prescribed care plans are followed according to professional standards? Do you have the technical knowledge to provide this oversight?

• You must have an effective screening process to evaluate the character and competency of potential caregivers. Are you capable of running a comprehensive, national criminal background check? Is the individual caregiver bonded against theft? Do you have access to state health certifications and licensing databases?

How long will it take to get a caregiver?

After the FREE in-home consultation with our Registered Nurse to assess your personal care needs, Cherished One Home Care can provide you with one of our compassionate caregivers within two to four business days. We desire a great match between your loved one and our caregiver because your 100% satisfaction is our aim!

I’m not sure if my insurance covers non-medical home care; will you verify my coverage prior to starting service?

Answer:

Yes. After getting your approval, Cherished One Home Care will check coverage with your insurance company and let you know the results.

How will the cost for my services be determined?

Answer:

Cherished One Home Care starts with a FREE in-home consultation with our Registered Nurse who evaluates your personal care needs. Your service cost will be based on the type of service requested, number of caregiver hours needed, timing of care (e.g. weekdays, weekends, holidays), mileage for ancillary trips (e.g. grocery store, medical appointments), and costs of add-on items (e.g. cards, flowers, etc.).

How often will I get billed for services?

Answer:

Our administrators perform billing on a weekly basis.

Do you accept credit cards and other forms of payment?
